JOB OBJECTIVE:
Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is seeking a Car Description Editor who will work closely with the in-house consignment team but also interface with numerous other departments in the company as needed. The selected candidate will be responsible for editing and proofing car descriptions while ensuring adherence to house style and maintaining consistent messaging and style. This position is office-based in Scottsdale, AZ and travel is required on a quarterly basis.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage writing, editing, and proofing of consigned car descriptions.
- Update the system on any changed description throughout the consignment phase.
- Assist other departments with communication needs and promotional materials as needed.
- Review and edit all auction car descriptions, ensuring consistency and adherence to house style.
- Proof/edit all incoming consignment applications, ensuring accuracy.
- Special projects as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE:

- Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Excellent knowledge of AP Style.
- Ghost-writing experience and knowledge of automotive terminology a plus.
- Ability to multi-task and work under deadline pressure, manage change and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Creativity, time, and project management skills.
- Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Bachelor's degree from in a related field (preferably in public relations, journalism, or communication) preferred.
- 2-3 years working experience in a related field.
